DancEgypt Dance Co. is dedicated to the preservation, teaching and performing of traditional Egyptian dance, both folkloric and cabaret.

We believe in adhering to the authenticity of the dance as much as possible. In order to do this we study with the masters of Middle Eastern dance, network with other Middle Eastern dance companies and organizations and continue to learn as dance directors so we feel confident that we are representing this dance form with respect and dignity.

Students can choose what they want to get out of their classes. There are several levels of training that they can progress through at their own pace provided they are willing to respect the requirements at each level. We will provide them with training, feedback and suggestions for improvement until they reach the advanced level. At that point, we will be working on developing personal style and providing more detailed feedback on technique so that when they are ready to perform in community events, they are able to represent the dance form with the preciseness and authenticity it deserves. However, they do not need to perform. Many students just love to take the classes for their own personal development and enjoyment. This is the essence of the dance.
